Interview

To a converso

REPORTER: When did you have to convert?
CONVERSO: All the other jews and I had to convert in 1492
REPORTER: Why?
CONVERSO: Because the Catholic Monarchs wanted to unify their subjects on common ground, they have used Catholitism so we had something in common, and we have been obligued to convert.
REPORTER: If they see you making jewish practices, are you killed?
CONVERSO: Well… we are tortured, and usually killed.
REPORTER: What type of tortures are the most common?
CONVERSO: The Strappado is an example of __torture__ in which the victim's hands are tied behind his or her back and suspended in the air by a rope tied to wrists, which dislocates both arms. They added weights to the body to increase the pain.
Waterboarding is a another __torture__, in which water is poured over a cloth covering the face, causing the sensation of __drowning__. It can kill you.
The rack consists of a rectangular, wooden frame, with a roller at one or both ends. The victim's ankles are tied to one roller and the wrists are tied to the other. They streched the victim.
And a lot more.
REPORTER: Have you ever make jewish practices?
CONVERSO: No, I prefer being catholic than being tortured.
Thank you, we´ve finished the interview.
